Haven't flown a 319.. we may get some in the mix with our new order.. starting delivery next year to replace our old 737's.
I much prefer Conf 3 alands .. they touch down a lot nicer.. its just that gawd awful nosegear slam that I hate. Its like a controlled crash.. well not quite that bad but it sure doesn't show any finesse.

Rippon College start taking bookings for their dorms at the end of the month. No air con though and they warn you about it and recommend you bring a fan !!

I'm trying to make my mind up between an RV and a hotel.. both have benefits.. better get it sorted this week I guess.

I've e-mailed an inquiry about this place - still waiting on a reply to check on how many it sleeps:

It's on the lake about 5 miles north of the airport.

I'll need to get a few of the guys here interested to make it cost effective (it's $500 per night) - probably need a total of 6, staying 6 nights to make it $500 each for the week.

May have a spare bed or two - will let you all know.

Well, GR,

It appears that I will miss you at OSH. We plan to be there the 26th - 28th, leaving early AM of the 29th. Was looking forward to meeting you.

Roger, our plans appear identical. We figure to leave out early the 29th as well. At this point it appears that Mary will be making the trip again this year. Do hope to meet up with everyone through out our stay.

That's a shame.. Next time. My leave starts on the 27th so it wouldn't be possible to get there any earlier.
Hopefully I'll still see some of you guys.
Regards

I am going to try to get there Mon morning. 25 DC-3s are scheduled to fly in Monday aftenoon, and I just have to see that. Takes about 14 hours flying time to get there from here. (yet another reason to build something faster) We'll stay until the wife and kids get tired of it, hopefully Friday.

Ok, just booked the flight and the details are:
- Arrival by airline at ORD on Tuesday July 27th, ETA 1335
First night booked as usual in the Super 8 at the airport of Milwaukee. There's a good restaurant next door, yes the one with a C150 on the roof!
Remainder of the nights are booked in the dormitories.
- Departure by airline from ORD on Sunday August 1st, ETD 1920

Looking forward to meet as many Falcoholics as possible :D

Dan

PS
My neighbor's wife is doing some nice embroidery. I will therefore be recognizable by wearing said art (see prototype below) on the relevant piece of clothing (no, none on the underwear)

Quote.
February issue of EAA's Sport Aviation

OSHKOSH EXPRESS 747 RETURNING
HUNDREDS OF AVIATION ENTHUSIASTS from Australia and New Zealand will make a joint pilgrim- age to Oshkosh next July in a 747 jetliner dubbed The Oshkosh Express. It’s the first chartered 747 since 1998.
The Oshkosh Express will travel from Sydney, Australia, to Auckland, New Zealand, and then on to Los Angeles before landing at AirVenture. It is expected to arrive at Oshkosh on Monday, July 26, in an Air New Zealand 747 and stay throughout the week.
The journey is organized by Avtours Australia, which organizes charters for aviation groups throughout the year. More information about this year’s trip can be found at the company’s website at www.AvTours.com.au.

Unquote.

Looking forward to see all these corks adorned hats in OSH 8)

Bob And Marya from Avtours who run the Oshkosh tours from Oz every year are founding members of the Frogs Hollow flying group over here in Merimbula where Drew Done and myself are the President and VP. I believe it has had a very good response and is almost full. Bob has a very good repore with the Oshkosh clan and when he decided to run this which will be the last 747 Oshkosh express he contacted the accommodation people at the uni and they held over 200 rooms for him. Unfortunately, I am unlikely to attend due to leave problems although this may change as it gets closer..
