When adding or editing your profile.. please don't check the "Always show my email address" ..
It is a little confusing.. if you don't check this box the registered users can still see your email address but unregistered people can't. The key is in the word ALWAYS.
If everyone sees your email address then unfortunately those scum-bag spammers can see it and all it achieves is filling your inbox full of crap.
Unfortunately its the world we live in.
