Hey Duane,

Great stuff!

I was getting a bit concerned about the length of the takeoff run when I remembered - you're starting at about 5,500 ft AMSL.
Jandakot elevation is 99 ft so we're not used to that.

Also I was really impressed with the way you managed to sing the entire backing vocals and still talk to your passenger!

GR,

Did you take this pic using mirrors :?: :?: It looks like the pic was taken from a Cessna, looking toward your plane :? :? :?

I float sand my parts to near perfect contour, obsessing over small deviations; a carpenter plagued by an engineers desire for precision and a machinists tools to create and measure it. Then I look at a cessna wing, with 3mm deviations all over the place. Mine is 56 years old and still flies straight hands off. The sub-millimeter precision of the flaperon frames is good enough. Time to stop fussing and glue on the skins.

Hey GR,

That iPhone must have a really fast shutter speed - it was able to get a clear image of you going past the Cessna without blurring

Yeah.. I was in the 185.
The intent was for me to go for a quick local fly in the 185 with Geoff (one of the guys from work who has entered it in the NZ air safari as the AirNZ entry.. all company paid!) and for Darryn to take a friend for a quick spin in the Falco.
After we took off from Raglan (where we had gone for breakfast) a large flock of birds settled on the runway and wouldn't move. We decided discretion was the better part of valour so we stayed in our respective machines and flew home. Hence the formation shot of the Falco going by that I took on my phone.
